Ok, so I've watching the Mets game, and Johan Santana has been lifted for the evening, Mets leading 4-3... I am extremely nervous, so I figured I will tell you what I am thinking as the rest of the game unfolds...
Bottom of the 8th:
9:46pm: Joe Smith is in - he is one of the more reliable ones, so it could be ok.
9:48: Kearns gets a base hit - here we go again...
9:49: I can't stand Lastings Milledge.
9:50: Stolen base - the sky is beginning to fall - Kearns on second, one out.
9:51: Strikeout, two outs... please get one more out.
9:52: I am watching on the Extra Innings package, and tonight I am stuck with the Nats' announcers - I wish they would just stop talking, really.
9:53: Side retired - who is going to play the role of closer. PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN AARON HEILMAN!
THESE MASN COMMERCIALS ARE PRETTY STUPID. They don't make we wan't to watch games on their channel - they make we want to turn my TV off and throw it out the window...
9:54: They are taking about the Potomac Nationals making the playoffs. They are probably a better time then the Washington Nationals.
9:57: Why can't the Mets score more runs when Johan starts? The only reason they took the lead is because someone got hit in the head with a baseball.
9:58: Strikeout, Feliciano and Kunz are up in the bullpen, please bring in Kunz...
Bottom of the ninth:
Okay, three outs away from a win, one pitch away from a blown save, I am getting sick....
10:01: Pedro Feliciano is in, now I am very nervous. I know he has been pretty good, but I was really hoping Kunz would be given a chance to close the game - we need someone to turn it around...
10:04: One out - I am putting the chances of a Mets victory at about 40%.
Manny Acta looks like one mean dude.
10:07: Strikeout, two down, chances of a win at 67%
Everyone keeps talking about making due until Billy Wagner comes back - I hate to tell you this, but he has not been automatic...
10:09: If anyone can blow this, it's the Mets. Full Count - chances at 80%
10:10: Mets win!!! (barely) Who would have thought Johan would get his 10th win in the middle of August??
